#FearlessFlawless239
FEARLESS & FLAWLESS Boys & Girls EMPOWERtainment Workshop
VOICE
MLK Day of Service, a national service day commemorating Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.'s legacy through service. The service project empowers individuals, strengthens communities, bridges barriers, creates solutions to social problems, and moves us closer to Dr. King’s vision of a beloved community.
TRUTH
70% of girls between the ages of 15-17 avoid normal daily activities, such as attending school, when they feel bad about themselves. Boys are five times more likely than girls to be classified as hyperactive and are 30% more likely to flunk or drop out of school.
HOPE
To improve interest in higher education, increase community involvement, encourage economic development, and to aid in minimalizing the likely hood of young boys & girls falling into the systematic cycle of poverty, all while commemorating Dr. King’s legacy of social upliftment and service to others.
EMPOWER
F.E.A.R.L.E.S.S. (Fearlessly Expressive, Actively Responsive, Leading Examples, Serving Society) & F.L.A.W.L.E.S.S. MOVE
Participants learned the importance of giving back to their communities and were also given the tools necessary to successfully serve with purpose. Additional steps were given to paticipants in order to create their own individual service projects.
