VOICE

On Saturday, January 7, 2017, VTM in partnership with the HCC MLK Day of Service Project and Hillsborough County Parks & Recreation, hosted it's 3rd Youth Empowerment Workshop and it's 1st with a focus on middle & high school boys only. 

 

TRUTH

Over 100 middle & high school boys registered to attend, over 50 adults participated as volunteers, and over 30 organizations and businesses collaborated with the event.

 

HOPE 

The objectives are to improve interest in higher education, increase community involvement, encourage economic and personal development, stimulate dialogue, and to aid in minimizing the likelihood of young boys falling into the systematic cycle of poverty and/or incarceration.

 

EMPOWER

Participating community leaders consisted of Orlando Davis (Program Director, WILD 94.1), Clifton Smith (Former Buccaneers Player), Quis & Dedoe (Internet Influencers), Demetrius Pettaway (Regional Manager, Fifth Third Bank), Maxon Victor (Tampa Boys Center), R. Anthony (NBC’s The Voice), Sidney Moore (Formerly with Hillsborough County Schools/Legendary South Entertainment), and Morris Martin (Guidance Counselor with Hillsborough County Schools). 

 

MOVE

Keith Babb III, Founder & Chief Executive Officer of the 2nd CHANCE Center 4 Boyz, commissioned the attendees to go into their communities and be a positive change despite their circumstances.
